Interests: Molecular characterization of gynecologic cancer
Special Issue Information
Gynecological cancer constitutes a heterogeneous group of malignancies with different epidemiology, morphology and clinical course. To date, classification of these neoplasms has been based on morphological and topographical criteria. However, molecular characterization is providing important information, not only to better classify these tumors, but also to discover new therapeutic targets.
In this special issue, the authors will present studies in which the molecular characterization of gynecological cancers helps in the understanding of the pathogenesis, better classification of the tumors or in the prediction to therapeutic response. In addition, studies on the correlation of the molecular characteristics of the tumors with their morphological features, immune response and prognosis will be welcome.
Since Gynecological Cancer includes not only frequent neoplasms, such as cervical or endometrial cancers, but also low frequency malignancies, the molecular characterization of infrequent entities is of special interest. In addition, this special issue will accept contributions focus on Gynecological Cancer in the setting of hereditary diseases.
