Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Due to late stage diagnosis, the 5 year survival rate is poor in gynecologic cancers, especially ovarian cancer. The early detection is the key for improving survival and preventing the disease. Advances in next-generation sequencing technology and analytical tools have explored the possibility of the noninvasive molecular approaches like circulating biomarkers in early detection of cancers. Circulating biomarkers include circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), cell free DNA (cfDNA), and exosomes (DNA, RNA, miRNA, proteins, and metabolits) as well as volatile organic compounds. Point mutations, copy number changes, structural alterations, methylation, gene and miRNA expression can be identified in circulating fluid by using next-generation sequencing technology. This special issue aim to capture recent insights and advances about circulating biomarkers, their specificity, sensitivity, challenges and opportunities in early detection of gynecologic cancers, and how this data can be utilized for early detection and prevention of the diseases.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at https://ejgo.imrpress.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. European Journal of Gynaecological Oncology is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by IMR Press.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is $1900. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English.
